So, who is this “Rhys” guy…?

Hey there! I’m Rhys.

I’m an actor / singer / musician, originally from Bloomsburg, PA.

I’m currently based in New York City, and I graduated from Ithaca College in 2022 with a BFA in Musical Theatre.

I am experienced singing musical theatre, art songs, choir, and singer/songwriter music.

As an actor, I have a great love for dramatic / heightened text, as well as contemporary works.

At my core, I’m a goofball who wants to create and participate in as many artistic projects as possible.

Basically, I love it all!

  • Music

I’ve been singing as long as I can remember, from overdramatic musical ballads to soft folk songs. I’ve been playing guitar since I was 13, and have picked up a few other instruments along the way. Music has always been a huge part of my life, and I recently started producing my own!

  • Acting

I’ve been performing since kindergarten, and have always loved an excuse to wear a costume. Theatre has been a really important medium in my life, as a platform to tell wonderful stories, be they fantastical or relevant. I am continually amazed at theatre’s power to inspire, as a tool for change or a celebration of humanity.

  • Other Interests

Aside from music and theatre, I’ve collected a wide range of hobbies. I like to dip my toes in as many interests as possible!

I love painting and designing, crafting random things, board games, STEM / technology, tennis, video games, long novels, movies of all sorts, and coffee (I’m a self-taught barista!)

by around age 4 I think I mastered the dramatic pose, and clearly had a knack for wearing a cape. Fortunately for me, theatre is a great loophole to continue wearing costumes well into my adulthood.

Aside from performance, a quick list of things I value most includes: family, friends, art, learning, collaboration, and thoughtful conversations.

  • “When life itself seems lunatic, who knows where madness lies? Perhaps to be too practical is madness. To surrender dreams — this may be madness. Too much sanity may be madness — and maddest of all: to see life as it is, and not as it should be!”

  • “But I don't want comfort. I want God, I want poetry, I want real danger, I want freedom, I want goodness. I want sin.”
